Day 13: Worship That Pleases God

“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.  The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'  There is no commandment greater than these.”   Mark 12:29-31

God is looking for worship that is authentic, accurate, thoughtful, and practical.  He is not looking for gimmicks or hocus-pocus.  Worship is not about forming opinions of who He is or how to praise Him.  Worship is about follow scriptures and doing it with all your heart.  It is about providing Him quality time to communicate and invoking your inner most emotions.  ". . .both spirit and truth are required." (The Purpose Driven Life, Warren pg. 68)
There are so many different ways to worship God.  It is not just about going to church, praying, or saying creeds.  'The best style of worship is the one that most authentically represents your love for God.'  It can be shouting, singing, meditating, serving others, solitude, creating art, and so many other amazing things which praise and worship God.  There is no 'one-size-fits-all' as long as you are doing it with your most honest and loving heart; then God is delighted.
I try to spread His wisdom through blogging and helping others be inspired in His word and grace.  He has also blessed me with creative abilities that continue to give me great oppurtunities.  The most important worship in my life right now is my private worship.  The things only he knows and he can see.  The key is to finding the key and/or keys which open your heart to its most vulnerable and free self.  The smallest worship can be the biggest reward.

"Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts.  But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.  Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.  They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”   Mark 12:41-44
