Gift Of Problems

Image
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. . .Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him."  James 1:2-4,12 Being a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, it is important to harness the gifts within every trial and tribulation laid before us.  There are many instances and many people who tend to give up in the face of obstacles.  Many of us lack being tenacious in many aspects of our lives.  So much of the world is taught to move on quickly to the next thing; constantly looking for the easy button. There is no easy button in life and those hard times thrown at you are to help you grow in some way.  It is those fallen moments which help us mature.

No Bake Protein Flax & Oat Bars

What you will need: 1/3 cup agave nectar raw 1/3 cup agave nectar maple 1 cup creamy Peanut Butter [using organic is best like Maranatha] 2 cup Flaxmeal 2 cut quick oats 8"x8" baking pan 3.5 tbsp coconut oil [not melted] 2 scoops chocolate protein [use the scoop that comes with your protein powder like MaxPro] 1/8 cup cacao powder In a 3 qt sauce pan, bring both agaves to a boil for about a minute.  Remove from heat and add in peanut butter.  Stir until creamy.  Add flaxmeal and oats until combined.  Take mixture and press into the bottom of baking pan until evenly distributed. Miss Fits & Mayhem Set The Stage

Image
NPC Colorado kicked off the season with a Novice & Masters Championship Sunday March 18th.  Taking stage was Michelle Lococo, Natalie Little, and Sean Looney representing The Gym Miss Fits & Mayhem.  The venue at Red & Jerry's Event Center was perfect for this show.  The set up was by far one of the best. Prejudging, Sean took stage first with four gentlemen in his class.  His posing was great and he kept a smile the whole time [even after almost walking off stage too soon-way to keep your composure!].  Natalie soon followed with six or seven women in her class.  Ashley Dennis, her posing coach, called out little corrections from the crowd.  You could hear fellow team mates cheering her on as the once semi-silent center got rowdy!  Unfortunately, Michelle did not have very much competition in her class being one of two in her figure class. Finals, Miss Fits and Mayhem all took first in their class.  Sean and Natalie were runners up for overall.  These places ha

The Gift of Learning

Image
"These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life. Hear, O Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, promised you. Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on t
