2022 Fitness Favs Gift Guide

Image
With Santa coming in a month - it might have you wondering what to get your favorite gym goer.  Here are some of my top gym gifts for 2022. 1.  Iron Bull Strength Weightlifting Belt You can end up spending hundreds on a weight belt.  Here is a very economical option that comes in four fun colors for women.  You can also get matching wrist straps .  I opted for mint on both.  In my experience - both are of great quality and an affordable price.  I will say if you are planning on really leaning up in the mid-section and are at the low end of a particular size on the size chart - go one size down.  My small is already at its smallest and likely will purchase a second in XS.   2.  Hydrarank Half Gallon Water Bottle These are my go to water bottles!  Because they are a half gallon, I never have to wonder how much water I have drank in a day.  I usually finish two of these a day!  The sleeve is easy to wash, comes in...

The Gift of Laughter

Image
Smiling is infectious; you catch it like the flu, when someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.  I passed around the corner and someone saw my grin when he smiled I realized I’d passed it on to him.  I thought about that smile then I realized its worth, a single smile, just like mine could travel around the earth.  So, if you feel a smile begin, don’t leave it undetected, let’s start an epidemic quick, and get the world infected! Your smile, your good deeds don’t just go around the corner, they travel through all eternity! Life is not always easy.  Sometimes we laugh; sometimes we cry; but when times get hard, the best medicine is laughter.  It is one of the things in life that never has a price tag.  You can take as little or as much as you want.  So today or whenever life starts to get at you,  look in the mirror and make a face at yourself, tell a joke, read a funny story, etc. ". . .why you always covering up your smi...

The Gift of Family

Image
“But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."   Joshua 24:15 Realizing we are children of God can sometimes be a hard task especially when we either choose not to believe, have been abused, misguided, or have a hard time overcoming our egos’.   Regardless of the circumstances, someone believes in us constantly whether we choose to believe in Him or not.   That is just how much we are loved and are all part of His family. “Strangers are family you haven’t met yet.” The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mark Albom While none of us are perfect or can actually be God, it is important to see the God-like qualities in everyone we meet.   It is important to cultivate family.   When we are all on our death beds, we are n...

Gift Of Problems

Image
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. . .Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him."  James 1:2-4,12 Being a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, it is important to harness the gifts within every trial and tribulation laid before us.  There are many instances and many people who tend to give up in the face of obstacles.  Many of us lack being tenacious in many aspects of our lives.  So much of the world is taught to move on quickly to the next thing; constantly looking for the easy button. There is no easy button in life and those hard times thrown at you are to help you grow in some way.  It is those fallen moments wh...

The Gift of Learning

Image
"These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life. Hear, O Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, promised you. Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on t...

The Gift of Friends

Image
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:  If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.  But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.  Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.  But how can one keep warm alone?  Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."  Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Friendship is a very important factor in life.  The mutuality of this relationship is part of what makes us, what teaches us, and what helps us to grow in many instances.  Here, we learn what true friendship is-not based on them telling us what we want to hear or having the same mind frame as us; but truly standing for us when we have fallen.  Being the one to tell us ,"You screwed up!"  Usually friendships are what make us want to be a better person.  It is also where we learn who to trust, love what is best for us, who li...

The Gift Of Money

Image
"For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil."  1 Timothy 6:10 NIV   "…Give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Other wise I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God."  Proverbs 30:8-9  In today's society, money seems to make the world go round.  It is the one universal aspect of life which is constantly in a state of tug-o-war.  It has the ability to do good and the ability to do evil.  It can save and/or ruin people.  It is a responsibility that also requires balance.  Christ has asked us to be responsible and do good with the small things so that we can be entrusted with something greater. All of heaven and earth belongs to God including ourselves.  We achieve what we have through God and without him we can do nothing.  This venture requires selfless acts and a ton of faith. ...

The Gift Of Work

Image
Work and money are some major keywords throughout the bible.  Perhaps this is because so many of us have trouble with them.  There is much balance in our everyday lives that is needed when it comes to these two issues.  Being handed everything leaves many of us always expecting that to be the case and being lazy in many other aspects of our lives.  On the other hand, those of us who work ourselves without allowing time to enjoy it often find ourselves neglecting family, friends, children, hobbies, faith, etc. Rest for the Weary “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”  Matthew 10:28-30 NIV Pleasures Are Meaningless There are also the cases where we try something we think we will be good at or fall into a job we could never see ourselves doing; ...
