The Gift Of Money

"For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil."  1 Timothy 6:10 NIV

"…Give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Other wise I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God."  Proverbs 30:8-9

In today's society, money seems to make the world go round.  It is the one universal aspect of life which is constantly in a state of tug-o-war.  It has the ability to do good and the ability to do evil.  It can save and/or ruin people.  It is a responsibility that also requires balance.  Christ has asked us to be responsible and do good with the small things so that we can be entrusted with something greater.
All of heaven and earth belongs to God including ourselves.  We achieve what we have through God and without him we can do nothing.  This venture requires selfless acts and a ton of faith.

“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father know that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”  Matthew 6: 31-33 NIV

“You cannot serve both God and Money.”  Matthew 6:24 NIV

Questions to consider in our journey of MONEY:
  • When have you gotten in trouble with money?
  • When have you “done good” with money?
  • How much money is enough? (enough to share?)
  • Do you “SAVE” money?
  • Do you “EARN” money?
  • Where do you spend your TIME and your MONEY? What do you THINK about? - This is where your HEART is!
  • What type of money problems do you have?
  • How do your money problems compare to others?
  • If everything belongs to God; who’s money is it?
