New You; New Him: Healthy Way To Revamp Your Marriage

As many of you know by now Erica's husband, Jesse, and Erica have made some lifestyle changes (the after pic is above the before will come later ). They decided to both buckle down with their personal trainer, Chris Williamson, and get bikini and board short ready on a whole new level.

Like many couples Jesse and Erica were happy and got REALLY comfortable. Hey there’s nothing wrong with going out for dinner and having cocktails together. But when Sunday Fundays start with corned beef omelettes and end with deep dish pizza and shot gunning beers, the fun and comfort has gone too far, and by the way, so has your waist line!

So then they were in this place in the crossroads between making a change or continuing down this horrific, all be it fun, road. And you catch yourself thinking ” well, I AM married. It’s not like I have to have this model body to pick someone up anymore!” Wrong, STOP the madness and make a change. They did it and so can you!

So how do you start? Lead by example… Such a basic concept but it starts just that way.  When Erica first decided to do a fitness competition her husband was supportive of my decision but it was just that, ERICA'S decision.  Jesse was busy with work and really wasn’t too gung ho about giving up some of the food that he loved the most just because she couldn’t have it.

But it became contagious, because all of a sudden I no longer had to create an “Erica” and a “Jesse” grocery store list.  He ate what Erica ate, and then something else started to happen.  As she continued working out in the gym and focusing on her goal HE started hitting the gym too.
Before long, he was helping her with food prep, cutting out the fun but fatty add-ons and pushing her to make it to the gym, even at times when she just didn’t feel like it.  They shopped together, ate together, worked out together, it became a whole new exciting marriage, not this uphill battle of work that it appeared to be in the beginning.  And when the results started to become apparent, well let’s just say that’s the REAL reward that we were able to give to our marriage!

For the next week, Erica will be giving you more “tips” as to how you and YOUR spouse can make the change like they did.  It’s never too late and, just like getting to our very best selves, we’ll do it together!
