There Is No Budget Bikini

The works suits average $1000-$1200
Basic suits start at about $135-$175

Want to compete?  You have heard that it can be pricey but might be a little blindsided by exactly what details will cost to get you looking your best on stage.

Cheaper is NOT better:  Many people look for a bargain when it comes to getting ready for the stage.  Cutting costs on any part of getting stage ready can leave you wasting money.  I have seen my fair share of make-up gone wrong, suits not fitting correctly, awkward posing, and tans too light.

Do your research:  Look through their portfolio.  Do not hesitate to contact them and ask a ton of questions.  Find someone who fits your style.  Not all designers, MUAs, trainers, etc will see your vision nor are all of them well versed in what belongs on stage.

  1. Registration Fees:  $75-$300 - depending on what show you are doing, local or national, the fee for each class is required.
  2. NPC Card:  $120 - This is your membership fee for the year.  Ends on December 31st.  Some shows require you have this before you register.  Others you can get it at check-ins.  Make sure you check the rules of each show to ensure you are prepared.
  3. Suits: $135-$1200 - Bikini suits range depending on material, stones, and connectors.  If you are NOT sure if this sport is for you, get a basic suit.  You can always add stones or swap out connectors later. [Other division suits are much more]
  4. Shoes & Accessories:  $40-$85 - Clear heels are the recommended shoe for the stage.  They come in a variety of heights and styles.  We recommend at least a 4.5" heel with slight to NO platform.  Rings, bracelets, earrings. . .great place to get your accessories are Charming Charlies and Claires.
  5. Spray Tan: $100-$150 - There are a ton of different formulas, companies, etc.  The more popular formulas I have seen are ProTan, Liquid Sun Rayz, Jantana, South Seas Competition, and Norvell Black Out.  Each has its pros and cons.
  6. Make-up: $150-$300 - Stage make-up is very different from every day make-up and even evening make-up.  Spend the extra money on a professional!
  7. Hair:  $150 & up - Whether it is getting it done for the show or adding extensions for fullness and volume, this is part of the package.
One show can run from $500 to $3000.  Be prepared and start planning now.  If you hire quality professionals, it will save you money in the long run.

(The above does not include training, food prep/nutrition, supplements, gym memberships, or travel expenses.)
