Day 31: Understanding Your Shape
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10
Each one of us is born unique and house abilities that are part of a bigger story. Our natural abilities were given to us by God as a piece of a puzzle. No one else has our distinct make-up or can fit where God has placed us. We were all made for His purpose. It is just as important to build our spiritual abilities as using our natural abilities.
First, acknowledge your abilities and be grateful for what He has given you. It could be accounting, managing, creativity, baking, teaching, good with a certain age group, leading, fitness, etc. Second, find a way to use your ability for the good of others. Thirdly, donate some of your earnings or time for the grace God. This could be doing a service free of charge, donating to a church or organization, or helping your community.
Being unique requires you to filter what you learn into your own shape. Just because one person may have the same ability as you, does not mean you have to use it in the same way or that you can use it in the same way. Our personalities and experiences will help to focus our abilities to their fullest. Take the easy and the hard, the good and the bad-never waste a hurt or ignore a mistake. We will find it easier to relate to the imperfect and failures of being human [especially when we can tell about God's grace in our weaknesses].
“If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?” 1 Peter 4:18
