Oh Baby Baby! [UPDATED]

From specialized cells grow more cells until we have this little human breathing, crying, pooping, and laughing on the outsides of our bodies.  We tend to their needs and begin to mold them as they start to interact with the world.  With this tiny being will come new financial obligations.

Not only can carrying a baby be expensive from new clothes to taking classes to name a few and added medical expenses; it also becomes costly to bring home baby.  The diapers, clothes, wipes, furniture, strollers, and so much more!  It is nice to see a few companies offering appreciation to the process of parenthood with boxes and samples that can help alleviate just a tiny bit of the costs.

  1. Amazon - FREE Welcome Box
  • Must sign up for Prime [they usually have a free 30 day trial]
  • Must start a Baby Registery
  • Must purchase a minimum of $10 off that list.  This can be you or someone else.
Once you have complete these steps, there will be an activated button to Get Welcome Box on your registry dashboard.  Simply add this to your cart.  (Valued at $35 - which will zero out at checkout)  the boxes change and may not contain what was received below.  If you are not planning on using Prime, be sure to cancel before the 30 days.

What was in the box:  SwaddleMe Wrap, Muslim Swaddle by Moon & Back, 0-3 month double pack of pacifiers by Nuk, two different brands of 4oz bottles [Boon & Tommee Tippee], Cetaphil baby travel sample, Johnson & Johnson Touchably Soft travel sample, 56 count wipes from Huggies, 7th generation diaper samples, and coupons.

     2.  Target - Welcome Bag
  • Must start a Baby Registry
Once you have completed this step, simply go to the Customer Service Counter, confirm your registry, and they will give you a Welcome Bag.  Some people have reviewed that their Target did not have the bags, so call ahead to confirm.

What was in the bag: 12 oz Dr. Brown's Bottle, Honest Wipe Samples, MAM Pacifier, Seventh Generation bath travel sample, Pampers Diaper Sample with travel bag, Babyganics sample, reusable bag, and a ton of coupons.

   3.  Noobie Box - Pregnancy Box
  • Pay $6.95 Shipping
What was in the box:  Cuties Diaper Sample, MAM Bottle & Pacifier, Sample pack of WaterWipes, Lansinoh BreastFeeding Pads, Nasal Drops, Purell Surface Spray Travel Sample, Prevail panty liners, Aquaphor ointment travel sample and coupons.

  4.  Bamboobies - Set of Reusable Nursing Pads
  • Pay $2.95 for shipping [with promo code: search internet and can find a whole bunch]
What was received: Sample of nipple cream, and one set of Reusable Pads valued at $8.

 5. Babylist - Hello Baby Box
  • Must follow their guidelines of creating a registry
  • Pay $4.95 shipping
Currently awaiting the box.  The con so far is they take a long time to process these requests.  Ordered the Noobie and Babylist Box at the same time and still have not received any communication from Babylist.  Will update once received!

**UPDATE (2.11.19): I personally would not suggest this box or registry.  It has not been worth the time or so far the $5.  They 'lost' the first baby box and have reshipped supposedly.  Still no tracking number and said the time would start all over again - 2-4 weeks.  Customer Service just copies and pastes what they have on the website which is not helpful.

**UPDATE (2.20.19): I FINALLY received my Baby Box after contacting customer service one more time.  The rep was way more helpful than the first and my box was received in about 3 days.  Of course, it almost took 2 months total.  It made the Babylist Registry Cards pointless as the Baby Shower invites have already gone out.

What was received: Greensprouts bib, Carters plain onsie, pacifier pouch from K-tan, pampers sample, water wipes, babylist registry cards, Lansinoh breast pad and nipple cream sample,  baby lotion samples, two different kinds of breast milk bags, custom diaper sample, coupons, and a Registry Guide.
  6.  Similac-Strong Moms

  • Sign up and create a profile
Surprise gift received:  3-7.6oz canisters of sample formulas - Pro-Advance, Pro- Sensitive, and Pro-Total Comfort and a ton of coupons.

  • Sign up and create a profile
Surprise gift received: Pack of Belly Badges for Holidays & Milestones and coupons.

Other offers not received but heard of:  BuyBuy Baby Registry Gift Bag - available only in store, Honest Discovery Kit - pay $5.95 and sign up for free 30 day trial.  READ THE FINE PRINT, Walmart BabyBox - Pay $5 per box [they have three].  You also can directly contact many diaper companies to receive free samples and if you are having multiples, many will send you more than just a sample.

While some of these require a nominal fee, others require just a little bit of time to complete their steps.  These free or low cost offers are a great way to try out products [which can be helpful if you are not sure what to ask for at the Baby Shower and keep some of the costs down.  With the exception of the Babylist, all offers have been worth the time and small fee!
