Open Business Directory, LTD. also doing business as yellow-page-usa.com, first began being investigated for fraud and scamming US customers in 2011. Directory scams are very common, however this company has a far more complex scheme going.
They usually fax an inquiry which looks like a sheet to update business information. Many times even if you call the 1-800 number to clarify, the representative says the same thing, "It is just to update our records." For a year of "service" runs a little over $1K by signing and 'updating' the business information.

BBB can tell you a number of things regarding the legitimacy of this company. They are not located at 225 Franklin St. in Boston. They have no known employees in the country. They threaten legal action and/or debt collectors against complainants in hopes this will get you to pay, however in the 238 (which grows daily) complaints on file, we have yet to see any of the threats go forward. This also includes over 500 disputes against the company and over 20 negative reviews with no positive ones to be accounted for. They do respond to some of these complaints, by offering a bill around $300. This response should be rejected and ignored.
BBB highly recommends simply avoiding any form of communication with them. If they continue to mail you invoices, simply throw them away. If they attempt to e-mail you, please have them e-mail jgelb@boston.bbb.org. BBB has requested information about their business several times but has received no answers.
Until they can prove they are a legitimate business in our country, BBB does not see reason why they should be receiving any sort of payment.
