The Waiting Game
I have a tendency to be impatient, knee-jerk, and have the ability to go from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds [and I am not talking about in a car]. Recently a situation raised a lot of questions within myself. How can I be fine and then be at Def Con 1 within only a few minutes? The answer is fear! We all have our defense mechanisms when it comes to being afraid. Some of us run, some of us fight, some of sweat profusely, some of us freeze, and some of us get angry. We all have our way(s) of coping with the unknown and often we project it when there is NO need to [even more so at the people we care about the most]. Most conversations and/or situations are more like little learning tasks or mirrors to help us see ourselves and cope in a more healthy way. They are not ALL emergencies and most of the time if we just wait; it will work itself our for the better. Usually better than we had hoped for.
