The Gym Expands

It won't be long until The Gym expands its family by moving to a 10,000 sq ft facility not too far from its current location.  This means three times the space, more equipment, amazing pre-membership lock in rates, and did I mention an official dodgeball court?   Visit them at 2353 S Broadway  Denver, CO 80210 or contact Joe to receive special pricing. 20 + 1: Dealing with Anger

Allow yourself to feel angry .  You may think you need to cover “negative feelings” with positive ones. You don’t. You’re entitled to feel whatever you need to feel. We all are. Make a conscious choice to sit with the feeling .  Oftentimes when I’m angry I feel the need to act on it, but later I generally wish I’d waited. Decide that you’re not going to do anything until the feeling has less of a grip on you. Feel the anger in your body .  Is your neck tense? Is your chest burning? Is your throat tightening? Are your legs twitching? Recognize the sensations in your body and breathe into those areas to clear the blockages that are keeping you feeling stuck. See this as an exercise in self-soothing .  You can get yourself all revved-up, stewing in righteousness and mentally rehashing all the ways you were wronged. It's Show Time

Leaving today with trainer and friend, Chris Williamson, Karl Biermann heads to the New York Pro to compete in his second pro show.  He took sixth late last year at the Orange County Muscle Classic Pro.  Twenty other gentlemen are taking stage to hopefully get a first place and a bid to the Olympia.  This is the first year the Olympia will have Men's and Women's physique. Speaking of Women's Physique, June 1st marks the first pro show in Colorado at the Mile High.  The Gym is training hard with Cortney, Ashley, and Erica re-qualifying in bikini and newbies, Leia, Maggie, and Jen making their debut.  Men's Physique has some dashing gentlemen: Greg, Courtney, Jesse, Brian, and Adam [who also will being sharing the stage with his lovely wife Liz].  Many of these competitors will be USA bound upon qualification.  Good luck to all competitors!!!

I’m not sure that it was mine; it certainly wasn’t anything groundbreaking or unique. I may have read it somewhere, I can’t remember now. It was the notion that when two people in a relationship think of themselves as on the same team, things get much easier. Positive feelings grow freely. Score-keeping and resentment are nonexistent. Insights are very personal—a simple phrase that turns my world upside down might do absolutely nothing for you, and vice versa. Perhaps this notion was so life-changing for me because I grew up surrounded by people who seemed self-focused, always looking for where they had been wronged.
